Ahh…some of us let the sun warm us, others allow it to get under their skin.

doctortoon says: …………. Going to be a long 4 (maybe 8) years for the right.

I’m hopin’ 8 doc, already, El Rushmo is implying he has to close shop for lack of material ( he seems to only be able to do rebounds) and maybe the rest of the yakking heads will become extinct also, regardless of which “side” they claim to represent. To me, they are the most dangerous people in this country.

Ah yes, JonD17, people who speak freely under our country’s guarantees and protections are the most dangerous people in the country. For goodness sakes! They might say something that offends liberals, or - gasp! - offends or criticizes President (for now elect) Obama. Hmm, perhaps congress should pass a law like the one proposed in Russia - if you criticize your county or its leader, you will be guilty of treason! Yes! That’s the ticket - that will shut the talking heads up! Yeah!

Gosh Dee, it sounds as if you are channeling sarah. With rights come responsibility, you cannot exercise one without exercising the other.

Dee, You dont need to go to Russia for that, just look in any 8th grade history book. Look up John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Remember those guys? Pres. Adams and his boy Hamilton got so tired of VP Jeffersons constant criticisms that they had Congress pass a series of laws called the Sedition Acts. They made it against the law, treason, to criticize the president. Sure, it was declared unconstitutional but not until after several peoples lives were ruined.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time if Russia and I can tell you we copy MUCH of that they do. Both Republicans and Democrats. If you want to keep America a safe place to live free you’d all better wake up and do something besides complain. You’d better find someway to participate and take action.

DeeBerg13, I say they are dangerous because they do not bother to adhere to the Truths and tend to present their own interpretation as FACT. Then too many people accept what they hear as fact and make “informed decisions based upon what they have heard. And to be fair about it I am talking about all flavours of talking heads be they liberal, conservative or whatever.

I think the distinction we have to make is between reasonably intelligent political opinions expressed in a civil way (for example, George Will’s) and over-emotional rants which allow no rebuttal (for example, Rush Limbaugh’s). Have any of you heard Rush tear into one of his own callers who dares to decline the kool-aid?

Ah, JonD17, and what are the truths? You do have a point about the people involved, though… you must take all of them with a grain of salt (or grains of salt as the case may be). You do seem to have your head on straight. As for you Dypak, let us hope that those who govern us have indeed learned from history, and do not pass any such silly laws (which include, in my opinion, the Fairness Doctrine), and BTW, I do not belong to any political party, but do lean toward Libertarianism. I have voted in every election I was eligible to vote in, ever since I first became eligible to vote, including the 4 years I was on active duty (1966 to 1970), including 2 years overseas. You can be extremely active politically without being in a political party!
