Mike: Change - it's in the air! Probably the particulate matter. Zonker: See, Mike, we basically don't want people we know to change too much... we crave the familiar cues. They keep us in our comfort zones... that's why reunions are so perilous - we keep trying to put old friends back in the old boxes... and it doesn't take much to throw us - just some small change in status or attitude or appearance... you seem unsettled by all this, Mike... Mike: Well, this is a bit of a shock, Zonker. Zonker: What is? Mike: Nothing. Just don't change, okay? Mike's summer daydream.

To much change man. I never thought I’d see the day when I saw a similarity of looks between Zonker & Frazier”s David Hyde Pierce.

How come Zonker doesn’t go gray like the others?
Ravenswing about 15 years ago
Some people don’t go grey. shrugs Me, I was salt-and-pepper when I was 26, and I’d a friend who was by the time she was 19.

I guess the real-life inspiration for Zonker lost weight? I recall he was a bit overweight the last time he appeared in the strip.
