It’s drawn for black and white. It just doesn’t work for this comic to colorize it afterwards.

Background? Bah, just make it one big blob of green. Yesterday’s strip looks even worse. It looks like sloppy work from an outsourced, underpaid Korean sweatshop.

It’s also obvious that whoever’s responsible for colorizing the weekday comics, no one’s ever bothered to show them a sunday strip!

Mom’s hair has always been yellow blonde. Not white. Heart’s hat is purple. Not eggshell green.

If you think we won’t get the jokes in black and white, can we at least have some consistency, please?

Desultourist,Heart is a great comic, and if you don’t like it don’t read it. Don’t need your stupid comments about the colors.

My comic lists Mark Tatulli as the cartoonist for both this and Lio. Is this true? If so he is one of the best cartoonist out there.

Paying bills turns a lot of people’s hair white.

Looks like Heart is on track in a career as a congressman or senator.

Slick move, Heart. . Color’s not that bad today, has been better though. Must be a new person in the coloration department. . Be gentle Desultourist, some people become extremely persnickety when their funnies are negatively critiqued.

I sympathize with Desultourist’s complaints. The issues with the coloring of the strip are not a slam on Mr. Tatulli. The color is added afterward by an unnamed syndicate employee. This is why they are inconsistent with Tatulli’s own work. I really don’t see the point in ragging on someone who has a valid issue with what the distributor is doing with the comic.

Thanks for the kind words. Indeed, not a slam at all. Nobody get me wrong please! I love this comic and will continue reading it… even if it hurts my eyes.

But just compare this to last sunday’s strip. A completely different quality! The sundays were always supposed to be in color and are drawn differently. The subsequent coloration of the weekday strips, however, adds nothing. It’s a cheap gimmick. In fact, I think the strips get devalued by the style. This can’t be how the artist intended it to look like. (he’d keep some continuity in the colors, at any rate…)
