Carmy: I agree with you - his fiendish little grin is also scaring me. Actually I don’t really enjoy seeing such Calvin - absolutely not adorably funny at all. Kind of sad to see human nature gets expressed like this on such a young kid.

Just what would one have to use to take down a T. rex? Nothing this side of a bazooka, I’m thinking.

Calvin - is the epitomy of us all - I absolutely love him even down to those days where the T.Rex must smash all the snowpeople. I myself have had days like that but because of being ‘adult’ I can’t just bash around ppl.

There is this side of Calvin in all of us. How we control it indicates how close we are to being civilized.

I’m convinced that one of the (many) reasons C&H became so incredibly popular is because of Watterson’s masterful ability to underscore the joke with one of Calvin’s totally exaggerated facial expressions.

And I feel sorry for the few who just don’t get it.

Everyone here likes to speculate on Calvin’s proclivities later on in life. This makes me think he grew up to be a member of the band Blue Oyster Cult and penned the lyrics to “Go Go Godzilla”

One of the best! I love all the snowman series, and that grin is priceless- if I used coffee cups….

What kind of parrot? Does he like to ‘stomp’? What’s his name (so I can hear what your singing, in my head).

Trying to get a mental picture. I love birds.

He’s a 5 year old Sun Conure, The bird55. He doesn’t stomp, but he sings and dances. His sister died in January. She was only 11.5. I am devastated. She laid way too many eggs, and died from complications of the stinking eggs. I find it extremely hard to go on without her.

You have my condolence.

I lost my LSC about a year ago. I had 8 1/2 wonderful years with her. She was only 18. She would get carried away with her dancing (bobbing her head) and start to ‘stomp’ her foot.

That avatar isn’t her, but it is in her honor.

I’m just suprised that they’re teeth and not fangs…

Some people mistakenly think God is like the Calvin-Godzilla in this strip. That he create something beautiful only to sadistically destroy it in the next panel. But the God I know was willing to come to earth and even to a cross to restore beauty and love and laughter to the human heart.

I always say they blew it in the second Jurassic Park movie. When the little boy looks out his window and sees the T-rex in his back yard, the boy should have been holding a stuffed tiger. They missed a great scene there.

Canpot, God is good in my eyes too, I don’t know how you got that comment from a comic strip, since Calvin isn’t playing God, he’s doing Godzilla, but after today in Washington, the devil owns this earth. The Congress did to all of us what Calvin to those snowmen, and think we aren’t going to undo it.

She passed suddenly of unknown causes. LS = Lesser Sulphur-crested. A smaller sub-species. She was a ‘rescue’, of sorts. She came to me after her mate had destroyed her beak. She was also missing a toe. She was very happy and well adjusted for a bird with only nubs for a beak. And she wasn’t too destructive, either! I was told her name was Miss Priss but her medical chart (from the vet that treated her after the attack) said Sweetie. I just called her Baby.

I not only looked, I downloaded them. They’re beautiful.

I used fire crackers and army men and had a real battle.

Thebird55 I’m glad to know she spent the rest of her life being loved and adored. They are so wonderful. I know that mine are gifts, and they’ve both taught me plenty. More than I could teach them.
