As for Walt, he is probably sound asleep and missed the whole show of Gertie and the dancers. Probably doesn’t want to be disturbed either.
I am sooooooooooo happy to see this storyline. It keeps getting better and better and better.
Lose the critical punks and spoil sports. The rest of us are enjoying this story immensely.

I’m not sure who the “us” is that you’re referring to. I’ve found the story to be dragging for weeks now. Apparently it doesn’t take much to entertain some of “us”. Many of “us” await your next attack.

It’s just that, having stated your opposition to the current storyline, you keep on repeating it over and over and over again without saying anything new. Yes, we get it that you prefer a different line. In fact we got it after you said it the first time. How about just waiting things out, as most of us do most of the time when the author of the comic goes off on an arc that doesn’t interest us.
Well me, I don’t always like what goes on in this strip. But it’s clear that Scancarellie is putting love, craft and passion into his work and that’s pretty rare in the comics these days. So as far as I’m concerned he can do what he wants and I’ll keep reading.
NotNorman is right. We live in America. I have family fighting for our freedom of speech. I have done my military time as well. Just as we suggest that people who don’t like GA not read it, we also have the choice to not read negative comments.

I’m sorry for being less than considerate in expressing my frustrations with everyone who hasn’t been enjoying the comic lately. It may annoy me, but you’re not really hurting anyone and you’re not resorting to vulgarities in anything you say. Thank you for that.
The story’s fine, the artwork’s great, Scancarelli’s a master of pen and ink, fine… the big problem with the story is Gertie. She’s a badly conceived character, two-dimensional and irritatingly stupid and obnoxious, even for a toon. Byrd, a more pleasant dude but about as much personality as a rubber ball. The core GA characters still ride on the strength of the original conceptions, but character creation and development are Scancarelli’s big weak spot. He’s a fine cartoonist, but he’s no writer. Look at the last pair, those unloveable, shallow twits Upton O. Goode and Ramona Lisa. Ridiculous. This is why readers pine for stories about the original cast. They’re the only characters who are still any good. And even they’d better start growing more 3-d personalities soon, because they’re fading into triteness too.
The slow pace of the strip was once justified because it took its time to highlight nuances of character, setting and plot, things that gave it real substance. That isn’t the case any more. Maybe Scancarelli should hire someone to write the stories. Someone who knows how.
Ocean17 states the complaint without…grousing. Hope the comment reaches Mr. Scancarelli.
Many of the rest of us attack each other. I suggest we can all do better than this. Or else perhaps refrain from commenting just because we can.

POOR OLD WALT LEFT ALONE OUT OF THE STORY LINE NOW DUE TO HIS APPROXIMATE AGE OF 112 YEARS–CURSED BY THE ORIGINAL ARTIST’S FOLLOWING THE PRACTICE OF LETTING HIS COMIC CHARACTERS AGE.
Definitely did not like the meteor arc. While I understand the complete insanity of sleep deprivation, that went beyond moral fiber. And besides, Slim doesn’t have enough energy to do much besides eat when he’s well-rested… organizing a meteor-strike was a real stretch for him.
