To us, this is the strange, strange, thing about American TV: you can put out a cop show where the impact of a bullet in a human skull is shown in loving detail and slomo, no special effect knowingly omittted, but just dare to even hint that adult females have breasts and - gasp! - nipples! Depravity, perversion, and the end of civilization! (And we all had a jolly good laugh at the Janet Jackson thing. OK, so her bra came open, but the silverware she was wearing underneath covered more than the cup of a bra usually does. So where was the problem?)

My point exactly. When I wrote this particular week, I was watching “Wire in the Blood”, a BBC series so graphic it made “Silence of the Lambs” look quaint. And yet, my grown daughter and I are uncomfortable watching a scene involving nudity together.

It’s gotten so obscenely ridiculous, AFHV now blurs babies’ bare butts. BABIES!!! Only a sick, twisted pervert would consider ANY part of a baby so arousing it needed to be blurred. It’s scary how much Western “civilization” has deteriorated in the last 50 years.

Allisonian! Nice to have you join us!

I was saddened when PT ended. A sweet and funny strip that deserved better. And I was very pleased with the happy ending for all the characters.

Best wishes for whatever you are doing these days. (When I have a bit more time, I’ll look around and see what that might be.)
