That used to happen to me all the time. Punished at school, then punished all over again at home when your mom learns about it. That wasn’t fair but what could you do?
Once the son of one of my mother’s friends got suspended for cursing a teacher. I don’t remember how the friend had handled it, but if I had done that, any reprimands at school would have positively paled beside what I would have had to face at home. Just that knowledge was enough to ensure that I would never get (too far) out of line.
