My daughters were raise that you eat what is put in front of you. Thankfully, neither of them are picky. We knew a girl whose parents let her get away with PB&J – crusts cut off – all the time. One time when we were eating over, our hosts were not only surprised that our girls ate what the adults did…but also the cut-off crusts from their daughter’s sandwich!

Practice French home rules. You have to taste anything new that’s served. Don’t have to eat it, but you do have to try it. And you don’t get a replacement. Taste it, and eat it or not – your choice. No fussing. The family meal is an important event which you will NOT spoil with whining. Which is part of the reason you can take French kids to a nice restaurant. Having tried most thing and liked many, there is always something respectable they can order.

I dated a woman for a while who wouldn’t eat Anything that her Mother had never served..Taking her to a Chinese Restaurant was a Thrill.Luckily, they had Bar-B-Q ribs on the menu, so we didn’t have to Leave..But, she refused to even Taste my Dragon & Phoenix (Lobster & Chicken) over crisp veggies.

Sounds to me as if Mom above is going out to a restaurant… without the kids.
