    Of course she asked permission. Would you leave the planet as a kid if your parents said no? Besides, Danae accepts authority - she just believes that if she can outsmart authority, it means that they acceded to her desires.

    Agree with Chikuku. The Sun itself is 8 light-minutes away. An object exactly opposite the Earth in the same orbit would be twice as far away as the sun, therefore, 16 light-minutes. Wiley’s got this one right.

    It may be 16.3 light minutes as the neutrino flies, but going through the Sun isn’t advisable. I’d multiply that by ½π.

    @Trebor,

    There once was a lady named Bright Who could travel faster than light. She went off one day, In a relative way, And returned on the preceding night.

    And then:

    There was a young fencer named Fisk, Whose movements were exceedingly brisk. So fast was his action, That Lorentz Contraction Diminished his sword to a disk.

    @Reynard61 The speed of dark is the same as the speed of light, just in the opposite direction.

    @ChukLitl If you can figure out how to travel at the speed of light, I’m sure going thru the sun or anything else is not a problem. So, Wiley is correct.

    Average distance Sun to Earth: 8.317 light minutes. Assume a close approach to Sun of 1 light minute (approx 12 million miles) and synchronous orbit of Mars 3.5. Travel distance = 16.75 light minutes. Wiley leaves them about 6 million miles short of their destination. Not that far in astronomical terms…..

    Hey, its only 16+ light minutes away - might have to travel further to get there.
