Sounds like a scam to me ….. under what possible scenario could you possibly have broken axles and a bad fuel pump.
If the fuel pump fuel pump is bad, you can’t work up enough speed to snap the axles in half. If the axles are bad,how are you going to know the fuel pump is bad.
And both axles at the same time. What are the chances short of taking the car off the side of a building.

Better test that tire air for carbon before releasing it. Rusty may have a cap, and a trade, but he’s got to do it right.
