Captain America: Yes, I know I almost forgot it. And for your information, Sharon, it's a protective shield composed of an indestructible vibranium-iron alloy used to fight crime, injustice and atrocities against humanity.. it is NOT my flair.

Hmm, don’t get the ‘flair’ part….

The inclusion of Captain Victorious is a nice touch.

I googled “flair” and it seems to be the same as “bling” or an ostentatious accessory.

I googled “flair” and it is the same as “bling” or slang for an ostentatious accessory.

“Flair” is from Facebook - people “give” each other little round buttons that look like Captain America’s shield, and they display them on their virtual bulletin board.

Captain A’s nose is bit too long though….

Forget the flair part, what’s vibranium?
admin about 15 years ago
Vibranium is an element naturally occurring in the Marvel Comic Book Universe. It is unique because it absorbs energy, especially kinetic energy. And, for all intents and purposes, it is indestructible.

Didn’t Capt. America get Flagged?
fredbuhl about 15 years ago
Maybe the captain would like to see something besides curlers in the morning. I mean, he might find it difficult to go out day after day fighting danger and mayhem with a vision of something a bit more inviting.

if that’s the amazing flash with him in the picture hanging on the wall, his uniform is the wrong color (s/b scarlet)!!

Can we please ban facebook references from the comics. It’s epidemic! Especially in the last two weeks. Anyone else notice this?

He may have missed the adamantium part, but he got the woman’s name right – that’ll be Sharon Carter, Cap’s girlfriend way back in the day.

Actually the alloy is correct, too. At one point the comic claimed it was an “adamantium-vibranium alloy,” but keen-eyed readers realized that adamantium came after Cap’s shield was created. There was one small little backup story in the Avengers title where Jarvis is using a laptop to catch up on email traffic, and he notes that Cap’s shield does NOT contain adamantium at all; rather, adamantium was created in an attempt to recreate the unique vibranium steel alloy of Cap’s shield.
And “flair” came before Facebook. (Besides, the Pieces of Flair app is on MySpace now, too.)
And I, too, appreciated Captain Victorious (from the Ink Pen strip) making a cameo. (And he is colored correctly, since he’s not The Flash.)

When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
All those who chose to oppose his shield must yield.
If he’s led to a fight and a duel is due,
Then the red and white and the blue’ll come through
When Captain America throws his mighty shield.

flair was a prop used in the movie office space, it refers to buttons and pins worn as adornment on a work uniform of server staff at a restaurant in this movie

Gee, here I thought Flair was a felt-tipped pen. (Back in my day, sonny…)

Boy, Sharon didn’t age well at ALL, did she - I hate seeing what she turned into. (Of course, the Cap is looking a little pudgy himself, now)
