John: Did you hear that? Noise: Whinnnne... Elly: Where are you going? John: To check on the dog... Elly: I should have known. If it was one of the kids, he'd have slept through it.
Hey you guys and gals! I think the sound “whining” comes from a puppy or Elizabeth? Elly should not being a grumpy! I would say that Elly and John should check to make sure that Michael, Elizabeth and their new puppy, Farley, would be OK. sighhh!
To doctortoon: Does it really matter? I’ve learned when there’s a pet involved, usually the parent gets it because it’s something that he–or she-really want even though they make the rules about the care and feeding of the pet to the kid(s).
It’s a vicarious thing. I’ve done it with my daughter and her gerbils, hamsters, fish, and now a cat that I REALLY can’t stand.
Sometimes its just not easy being a parent without some of that “inner child” coming out at the same time.
Anyone with kids knows EXACTLY what I mean!
smurf764 says:
I bet she’d complain if he slept through it and the whinning puppy kept her up…..
I agree with you 100%. That is why she doesn’t want to deal with the pets’ problems but She and John teach Michael how to take care of puppy until the puppy grows up. Farley will be fine, amazing, and of course hilariously funny dog.

Typical male. “The kids are the woman’s job.” Nope they’re your kids too Buddy. Now I hope that puppy doesn’t keep them up all night whining.
