Farley: Chew chew chew chomp chew munch chew Elly: Farley! Here's your chew-toy! It's just for teething puppies! Here it is, boy!! Good doggie!! That's for you! Made just to chew on! Good boy! Farley: Grunch chew grunch...
Before i was born my dad had got a dog that was 1 year old when i was born so i never saw it as a puppy. He said she bit holes through the WALL! I dont know how her nose allowed her to do that.
Once upon a time I had a dog that ate a good part of a kitchen bench, foam rubber padding and all. My father had a (different) dog that started in at the wheel well of his 69 Stingray Corvette convertible and chomped through a good portion of the fiberglass towards the hood.
My husband says that dogs are smarter than cats, but I know better.
One day when our first dog was about a year old, my wife and I felt comfortable leaving her out of her kennel while we went to work. When I got home to our apartment, I found a triangular hole in the front windows’ venetian blind. Then I saw her poke her head into the hole; it was a perfect fit, ears and all! We had a real good laugh about that. At our first house, the neighbor’s rottweiler chewed a hole in the wooden fence so he could poke his head through for petting.
Channce, I agree with you, he is bigger this must be a few week later. When he was brought home he was tiny round ball now look at his legs. They do grow fast…
I remembered when we had second one (we hated that kind breed of dog). That stupid dog chewed everything around in my parents’ home and even it chewed my doll’s head. I hysterically cried. At this time I despised and stared like the daggers toward to that stupid dog. Finally, my mother got rid of that dog after she got tired of it chewing everything around at my parents’ home. I was so happy she got rid of that stupid dog.
My friend’s bull mastiff chewed holes in his wall too. She gnawed on the edge of a door frame and her back teeth punctured the wall. She has to stay in the backyard now.
It is kinda funny; my golden chewed on a corner of a drawer chest; boy was I mad!! Now, 14 years later, she is gone, the chew mark is still there, and I wouldn’t get rid of the chest for anything. I think of her and smile.
Wildmustang, it’s not the puppy’s fault. It’s teething! Best to keep stuff you don’t want chewed out of reach.
On the other hand, I had a crazy dog when I was growing up. She chewed up my glasses, ate the mail, ran through the house with a roll of toilet paper, once tried to chew up my inhaler, and inhaled an entire Boston cream pie during maybe a five second period while our backs were turned. But we loved her anyway, because she was part of the family. (Of course, we could have done a little better with the training; but she did flunk obedience school! :-)
Wildmustang,I’m glad they gave the dog away to hopefully a much better home than yours . Do you kick kittens for fun too. people like you should never have any pets, or children, hate to think what would happen when your child makes a mess give him away too ?
Wow, a couple of you are harsh. Wildmustang, that’s exactly why I wouldn’t want a puppy in the house - I wouldn’t have the time it takes to keep him out of trouble and train him. I’m waiting for a fenced-in yard before getting a dog.
We have puppy teeth marks on the staircase handle. On the back door and on mummy’s gold pen. All out there by long gone furs. We smile every time we see them. There are also boxer dog paw prints in the concrete floor off the utility room.

My dog found a corner of carpet to chew on and pulled up the carpeting. About 5 feet of it. While I was at work. Ah, good times.

No, he hasn’t grown that much. It’s a matter of perspective. He’s closer than Ellie.

We bought toy balls for our cat to play with. She has more fun stealing and whacking around twist-ties from the bread packaging!!

That’s life, isn’t it? Nothing if not what you expected!

Yep, that’s life. Something’s always gnawing on some corner or edge of it. Good luck.

Wildmustang. Don’t ever get a dog. You are obviously not a dog person. My puppy chewed a hole in our boxspring. But now he is aa awesome dog.
