Or, if we did talk less about Santa (St Nick), we might become one nation under God.

While America’s religious identity is very interesting, I can’t help but point out that this comic takes place in Canada…

The only thing wrong with religion is that every faith has to many “devoted” followers that feel the need to cram their beliefs down everybody else’s throat and if you don’t well then…lt’s time for war.

Whatever happened to “Peace on Earth and goodwill towards men.”

I’ve talked to Santa. I’ve talked to God. It seems that God has delivered more things that I’ve asked for than Santa. And who would like to live in a country whose motto was “One nation under SANTA”?? Not me. As for God advertising….just look out your window and see the sky, the sun, the rain, the snow, the trees, and everything else around you. Now THAT’S advertising!!

I’d say His creation is pretty good advertising! But Santa’s only talked about once per year, so you notice it more. Those who are going to talk about God talk about Him all year - you consider it normal.

About the debate - every person has the freedom to choose what to believe - but that doesn’t mean every belief is right. Stand for what’s right (with gentleness and respect), but be willing to listen if someone can explain to you why you’re wrong.

doctortoon is absolutely right! I am a Christian, but I am not one of those Christians who will disrespect someone else because of their beliefs. Unfortunately, people like that ( and we know who they are) had given the Faith a bad name and reputation. Why can’t we show the same love and compassion that Jesus did to our fellow man?

in the spirit of the holiday’s can we agree on one fact. most religions are based on simple rules. rule 1-there is one entity that made everything. rule 2-almost all book’s of religion speak the same basic mantra (do the right thing and get along with others) rule 3- to get to your (heaven) apply 1-2 why is it so hard to get it ?. maybe just maybe this is the long asked ? what is the meaning o life.

food for thought (my religion say’s merry christmas).

I don’t get the whole god thing. I am a staunch believer in living one’s life in a loving, peaceful manner. Religious persons all seem to think their way is correct and the others are wrong. Hence wars and hatred. Very sad.

I am with DoctorToon. I am a christian. Unfortunely, one of my brother, who I am very close to, does not believe in God/Christ and he would make comment (not nasty but ‘fact’) about what he reads – like Christmas was not created around christ – but I sure don’t see anything wrong if people associate Christmas with christ, if they want to. My brother and I love Christmas for the decoration/lights and togetherness.

Hey Yo! You guys and gals all you need to have the faith a little bit but not need to have big faith for God. I for myself believe in God and want to have faith a little bit daily. God is above us. Of course, we all are not 100% perfect! Do you know who is always perfect? Let me know you guess who is perfect? If not, I will answer back someday!

… and because more people KNOW about Santa than God… think about it. Sad, but true

If religions are accused of imposing their way on others, how does that explain the Soviet Union? The USSR, an atheist nation, invaded multiple countries and forced their way on the natives, and murdered 100 million people, far more than what the Nazis did. That makes it hard to argue that atheists have never forced their ways on others.
