Oh, this is so … going way off track of the theme of the cartoon. At least, that is how I look at it. Is there no such thing as gender neutral respect out there? I know – being a guy – that I am likely predicated towards my “toys” of choice, and that I am just as likely to fall for the feminine wiles worked upon me … BUT I do have the right to choose. BTW, ever wonder if this cartoon segment was one of the series of that starts Lawrence’s pondering of sexuality. Not to be “homo-phobic” or to disagree with the research that points towards the idea of the “gay gene”, but in my opinion IF more parents raised their children in a healthy and traditional manner, there might be less inclination for a teen or adult to become gay. There! I’ve said it. Had anyone else the inclination to make their views known?

    Please note that I said ” – being a guy – ”

NOT being a gay …. Before someone else decides to add in a response to my note.

Boys are braindamaged in the womb. Enzymes cut connections between hemispheres. This reduces the ability to multitask, but increases the ability to focus.

I think people have such strong opinions that it reduces the possibility of actually perceiving what is there. For a long time I thought the difference between the sexes was purely cultural, until I heard of some research which actually showed differences between male and female brains. So I had to change my ideas.

But now there is research that shows that a lot of what we thought about the way brains develop is wrong. So I’m just trying to keep an open mind (so to speak).

As to homosexuality, as far as I’m concerned it’s not a matter of opinion. (Reminds me of the old story. “If people voted on whether 2+3=5 or 6, and 90% of the votes gave an answer of 6, would that make it true?”) We just don’t know enough to discuss it in a reasonable manner. I say, just leave people alone to live their lives as long as they aren’t hurting someone.

What bugs me is, I don’t think these issues will be settled before I die - and I’d really love to know how it turns out!!

@Avolunteer – I’m not saying girls aren’t smart enough or don’t think logically. I’m just saying they do and see things differently. My daughter loves science (not old enough to choose a profession), but she turns it into something personal where she tells stories and is creative with it. I’m also in a predominantly male field (IT/computers), but I also am more creative than my male co-workers.
