Come on Garfield - you know cats are inscrutable. You never know what they’re up to.

Cats love to lay in the sun. It’s the perfect spotlight for them.

True, true; just ask Hobbes. Cats are solar-powered.

Yeah, I have two black cats, and when they’ve been in the sun for a while, it burns when you touch them, but they love it… I will never understand that…

Mitstan - never try to understand a cat. It’s like trying to understand a woman, virtually impossible!!

I think if a human managed to ever FULLY understand cats, said human would go insane. Maybe that’s why Watterson stopped…

@Allan: it seems like women understand women. it’s just us poor, unenlightend guys who can’t fathom them. maybe it’s the same for cats.

Allan … so right! Even different cats can follow different behaviours, but still share basic traits. Same can be said for women.

Some of us women are just as confused as men about some other women. Irrational is irrational, man or woman.

Garfield rehearses and prepares to be performed for his spotlight by a ray from moonlight in the evening time.

No, cats are like boys- always doing random and strange things.

I’m with Garfield himself on this one. He and Jon have been stuck with each other since 1978.

“What Hobbes DID (it’s an old comic strip) was just a figment of Calvin’s imagination.”

Actually, Watterson said that it wasn’t Calvin’s imagination — Calvin really did have a different reality.

Sorry for nitpicking. (It’s my hobby.)

“Waiting for the spotlight”? Sounds more like a politician to me.
