Macushlalondra you obviously haven’t seen St. Bernards or other large dogs … they do drool, and ALOT … I’ve seen some dogs leave 10” puddles … and yes this IS excessive, but it is also GARFIELD … so take it with a grain of salt.
Doc-Depends on location and particular makeup, male female, other animals in the home, etc. As a rule, they are drool machines, given the right environment.
Chalk it up to being a comic strip, but his feet are below the floor surface too!

he’s sinking into a wet surface, like it’s quicksand. if he drools any more, garfield is likely to get caught in the spreading bogginess of it all.

This is a bit too exaggerated and rather gross. I don’t know much about dogs but I doubt any dog drools this much.
