The bell has to be on that Taco Smell bag. What a disgusting place to eat.

Sit in the back, near the bathroom. And thank you for bringing your own barf bags. But you could save yourselves some trouble. And just flush that food down the toilet now.

Stare America! LOL…. after all, staring is caring….Burl and Joy couldn’t possibly sit across the aisle from each other in EMPTY seats because they’re both so gosh darn attractive that the NEXT two passengers would make them move over to the windows, just so they could sit next to them. Besides, they want a captive audience so they can explain Burl’s “problem”. Unfortunately Burl will never figure out his REAL problem(s).And glad you made it, Mikie and Oddball! Or is that Llabddo and Eikim? Nasus

“Smell the Cal-Sag”. Those who aren’t from the Chicao area may not really appreciate that one. Think flowing swamp, throw in 100 years of industrial wastes and farm runnoff and the jumping asian carp and you’ve got it!

As usual, Joy and Burl think of noone but themselves. I see the bus goes to a number of “tourist sites”. My family had a condo in Branson for a reunion week a few years ago- good open place for all the cousins to play together (tubing behind the rented motorboat) and my daughters and I spent more time by the pool while the boys and kids were out on the water. Now the 2 oldest grandkids are off to college…

Taco Bell on a bus…lovely! Stare America, how fitting for them. Ask my doctor about my problem sounds completely unnecessary. Burl and or Joy will gladly talk. And talk.

Tour buses are not my way of traveling in any way… I feel too confined to what OTHER people want me to see and experience (even on the stops). I like my travel to be free-form and as minimally planned as possible…. a basic destination, and a whole heckuva lot of meandering and spontaneous serendipity. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Now, that our beloved Pennys prefer aisle seats on a bus tour is of course hindquarter-backwards for that style of travel, but at the same time it is a sort of melancholy and disquieting statement of their lives as well. They get to see little on their trip in the bus, so do they go a) because it is expected (and thought of as luxurious) in their world to go on those trips, or b) that they need to feel a “part” of something (even something that makes them motion sick) that they will ride a bus for who knows how long to travel.

finale- I was from Skokie and Maywood in my distant youth but thought that refered to some california tourist place (not the Calumet river! Eww!) Even back in the 50s when we kids walked along the Desplaines river they were all disgusting (but it was a shady walk to the roller rink).

They’re on a “Stare America” tour, which is all about looking out windows and Staring at America, and yet “both of us get carsick looking out the windows”. Why are they even on the bus?

Finale — thanks, I meant to ask what that was. And welcome, Klamath!! Glad you made it. I had a few glitches in signing up too cos I did it ahead of time and then Comics.com did it for me. My e-mails were double of some strips and my page keeps getting rearranged. Oh well — at least a lot of us made it. You and I are in charge of doggerel.
