I think the “Pandora’s Star” from Peter F. Hamilton started with a scene exactly like this. Or similar as no time travel was involved, only teleportation. Eh, nevermind…

That’s one small click for a man, one giant new timeline for mankind.

(P.S.: In IMPERIAL EARTH’s afterword, Arthur C. Clarke cited Neil Armstrong as saying “That’s one small step for man” – not “a man”. According to Clarke, Armstrong once said (in a rather exasperated tone as I recall), “That’s what I meant to say, and that’s what I thought I said.”)

This is funny to think if it ACTUALLY happened. Can you imagine?

And to think, the tourists knew to time-travel to Arizona, just in time for the filming! LOL <:-)

Rakkav, I believe it was the other way around. And recent re-analysis has indicated that he did in fact say “a man”, just that the “a” was rather quiet.
