We’re seeing a combination of a clever concept and skillful exploitation of it. A rare combination in comics. But I think you guys have used up all the good puns. Don’t know if he can go much further with this. Nice job, Tim.

Okay people it looks like RayC thinks you’ve used up all the good puns. Now that sounds like a challenge. After some of the great puns I’ve seen on these comic pages I’ll bet by tomorrow there can be at least 2 pages.

So when doughnuts die, instead of “meeting their maker”, do they “meet their baker”?

I’ll take that challenge Ray -

As another cartoon father would say, “Dough!”

The daughter probably thinks her dad is crueller than all of her friends’ fathers…

During the winter on Torus, do they wear long johns?

ALL RIGHT!!! I could be mean and remind everyone that i wrote that all the GOOD puns were used up… but I have to admit I was wrong and there were still plenty of laughers left. (Maybe “good pun” is an oxymoron.) DigitalFrog: I knew you would respond to the challenge. My favorite was the “crueller” (i.e. cruller) remark, which was really inspired, but I didn’t get the “long johns” entry. Could you explain? bmwk12ltc : Thanks for bringing out the challenge. Made my day. I’m proud to be on the same comment board with all you folks. Don’t stop now!

I’d be proud to be on the same comment board with “all y’all” too, except that I’m so insanely jealous at all your good work.

It could be worse, Dad. She could be wearing a sugar glaze - and the doughnuts I’ve met who do are typically total airheads. At least your powder-covered daughter has some substance to her.

All we need is some of Doctor Toon’s nuclear coffee to dunk her in and we’ll be all set.

Ray C - long johns are the slightly phallic-shaped pastries, somewhat like an elongated eclair, often topped in chocolate or maple (seen them called maple bars in some places) and of course that’s also the term for long insulated underwear.
