At this point, it looks like the potential for a parallel to the Jonah story is also there. Up To No Goode had his Saul of Tarsus on the Road to Damascus moment of conversion. Now it would be interesting if he stopped running from Nineveh and instead answered the call to witness to it!
Sure is a welcome relief to the elongated story lines found in certain other strips these days. At least this one moves to some degree instead of spending two of the three allotted panels rewriting the previous day’s installment.
Okay, if this is as much as there is to this story I am going to be pretty disappointed…the rev’s story is just too implausible. Where did he sleep? Why didn’t he use the phone at the garage to call the church? How did he get cleaned up in time? I know, “it’s only a comic strip”…but still.
Since Skeezix was abandoned on Walt’s doorstep, Warren Peacegood could just happen to be a relative. Stranger things have been known to happen, particularly in comic strips.
Negative always negative. Most of you guys would be happier if they had looted the house cut slims throat and in the next panel Ramona throws him AK - 47 and shoots up the church.
God forbid a cartoon dealing with ethics and the love of Christian principles. That’s way to deep and boring for you .
That little church sure looks like the one I went to as a child. Nice to see it’s still a part of America.
@milvet - That’s not quite fair. Most of the folks here have enjoyed this story. goComics seems to attract equal parts of positive and negative. You want to see real negativity go visit Dick Tracy, the poor guy. The worst the negativity gets around GA is criticism of the story. Everyone has, usually, a good word to say about the art, at least.

I’m one of those who drop by for both the art and story. In the case of this story arc, I’m not religious but I don’t mind religious themes. I looked forward to seeing what would happen next every step of the way, and enjoyed the characters. That’s always enough for me in a comic strip!

I suppose Goober Pyle repaired his car, since Mayberry is the next town over from Gasoline Alley.
At this point, the message is completely positive. That may sting some readers.

I think the storyline is great and what a sweet pic if the church in the second panel. I hope Ramona repents as well but time will tell.

Is it just me, or do others think Rev. Peacegood looks like he could be Skeezix’s long-lost brother?

Does Warren have a sister named Annie?
