To all whom I have offended today, I appreciate your plight. I know reading Birdbrains can be a terribly offensive experience and for that reason, I will be curtailing the use of rope in cartoons. Nothing good ever comes from the use of rope and I should have known better. You can’t make a good soup or salad with it and it is always used for very offensive activities. I don’t know what I was thinking.
nighthawks -
Sorry about the Braille message. I just wanted to provide a little fun for my sight-challenged readers.
GivingJOYfulThanks-
You’re right - I should have painted the birds a different color - something like lime green or root beer brown. It was terribly insensitive of me to be so abusive of yellow and red birds! I suppose I’ll be accused of making ALL birds yellow and red now and some bird will soon sue me. Thanks for the heads up.
And to all others - hey, if I offended anyone hanging by a rope held by their boss (who is disappointed in their job performance) outside the window of a tall skyscraper, I am deeply sorry. I should have provided the poor victim with a decent severance Czech.
Have a great day, Tribe!!! Thanks for reading this offensive cartoon!
Thom: In the expression, “Taking offense,” you may notice that offense is something that you “take.” The secret is to simply not take it. If you don’t, you won’t be offended. If someone is offended by light humor, it’s their problem, because no offense was intended. Unless I am wrong, of course.
You have a good point about being offended. This is why I only offend those who are offendable and why I only give offense. For one, being offensive can be so expensive, some people feel they must take it - even if it isn’t theirs! Of course, that offends me and my sensibilities to no end. Hence, I feel I must respond to those who illegally take something that does not legitimately belong to them - namely, offense.
Johanan Rakkav, my charioteer friend -
Please do not be offended by another taking offense - it makes you an accessory after the fact, which can also be very expensive.
So, for these reasons, I choose to give offense. Please accept it as my gift to all offendable readers. :)
I’m really surprised more of you didn’t comment on the Tower of Braille in this cartoon. Thank you, nighthawks! Of course, it’s coded with plenty of offensive language. Would I translate the Braille message? Wood eye? Why, yes… someday…
From poisonous offenses to offensive bird colors to rope hanging offenses, this has truly been one of my more offensive days. Thanks to all of you for making it such an enjoyable way to be offended! I don’t remember the last time I laughed at so many offensive remarks… well, except for yesterday, when it all started.
That’s a tower of offensive Braille remarks?
That’s awesome! I never would have caught that.
As for offensive, life’s too short to worry about everyone else’s opinion of me. (That can mean two things for the record.)

Seems as if you’ve reached the end of the rope Morgan! Can you say “freefall”?

Notice the “birdbrains” watching the other “birdbrains”? :)

OK, I’m not REALLY offended, but I really do sell rope!!
bmonk almost 15 years ago
@JFri, go smoke some of your rope! (LOL!)
The Duke 1 almost 15 years ago
Sorry, bmonk! Synthetic fibers ONLY!! NO HEMP!!
Rakkav almost 15 years ago
Ever do some reading about what burning plastics can do to you? :))
The Duke 1 almost 15 years ago
Johanan, try burning styrofoam! HCN is the by product which is hydrogen cyanide….don’t breathe!!**
ottod Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Styrofoam(tm) is polystyrene. Nothing there to make HCN. Still not good to breathe the smoke, but no cyanide.
You’re probably thinking of polyurethanes.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Now we are talking about smoking things with mind changing properties.
See what you started now Thom! Now I’m offended! What else can you start with this strip?
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Doc–I resemble that remark! I’m offended.

Can somebody translate the braille for me? I still have one good eye and I never learned.

Of course you’re wrong, and now I’m offended.
(And if you take a word of that seriously, I have a bridge in Lothlorien I’d like to sell you…)

I think that I am fine with the rope no offense taken unless of course it is tied into a noose and I am being led towards it in handcuffs.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I feel like I am being roped into this discussion. I’m offended. What’s wrong with red and yellow birds? Oh yeah. Birdbrains!
How about blonde? Opps, I think I may have offended myself again.
Morgan, you are welcome to drop by anytime now that you have free time.
Thanks for the ammo Thom! It livens up the comments.

@Chief Thom Thom
Maybe it’s because some of us can actually read Braille…or at least (as in my case) distinguish it from a chaotic pattern of dots. :)
Are you offended at me now? :))
dipsdayal almost 15 years ago
cant read braille isnt one supposed to feel it…and thom….is it the pink slip then…i see a slight tinge of pink on the rope or do i….
