Ringo appears to have that “Tracy Beak” thing going with his chin. I wonder if other policemen have it as easy as Tracy does, with criminals seemingly coming to him.
Manadrale (of the waxed mustache) doing his first ILLUSION, suddenly Wonder Woman appears out of nowhere on the Elephant’s back !
Ludwig too notices Bonnie’s change of top but isn’t sure, the first at home the second to go to the Circus (?)
Morrow sensed that something “strange” was happening here at the Circus, and wondered if Tracy still had that Matrix pack on him (?)
But “morrow” will see the first noticable hypnotic fantasy occuring tomorrow when we have Tracy selecting the right WORD to describe the “quality” of the strip (“POPCORN”) to Locher, and adding a little disingenuously in calling it “good”
And similtaniously there is a fresh chimera as Bonnie’s top before your eyes (AT the Circus) now really changes from black into white.
A triumph of the Occult over Thermal science. The .darn thumb takes too long to warm up ! Mandrake just waves his wand.
That’s why Locher has Sam’s remains frozen solid like Claude Crystal (1957) in his Deep Freeze in Naperville. And out of action
Leaky:
Have you ever seen the old Charlton Heston film “The Greatest Show on Earth”? It was set in the fifties, and every man in the audience (and some of the boys) were in suit and tie. I’m so glad we’ve gone more casual at places like the circus.
I’ve read that in the 1930s, Franklin Roosevelt would sometimes call Chester Gould to see what was going to happen to Dick…nowadays it seems like the only suspense comes from wondering how badly written and drawn the next adventure is going to be.
With this artwork, poor Dick can’t even escape the deformed loons at home. His daughter keeps changing ages! Does he have a son? Or does he have two? He vaguely recalls a reader favorite named Jr, but he does not look like the Jr he remembers
Just looking in the mirror he never knows the width of his eyebrows or if his coat will stay on. He didn’t even put on a tie this morning, but there it is. His arms are never the same size, and then his hands, everyone’s poor mangled hands…
Tess says that Dick needs “diversion” in his life. By diversion, does she mean a nighmarish, evil, flesh-eating elephant? Because that is what I see at the circus in panel #1. Yikes!! It makes me wonder what kind of dates Tess wanted to go on with Dick when they were courting. Back alley? Garbage dump? Tess knows how to pick a great hang-out spot.
That’s an insightful question “436rge”, and to compound it, tomorrows first panel introduction states: “Dick Tracy and his Family”. Tracy, Tess and Bonnie are seen. No Joe !
Readers like you and me know there is Joe (aka Cool Dude) Tracy, and In any “well written” strip one would see him at the Tracy home periodicaly. He lives there. Joe hasn’t been seen since Christmas 2000 (Max Gorge)From Locher a BIG HOLE, A missing explanation !
Locher hard core supporters continue to insist that that he is strong on “continuity”.The lad has seemingly dissapeared into thin air. It’s as if he never existed (?)
A major example of wanton carelessness, suggesting a blase’, “don’t really care” attitude, almost like waving a silent finger at the readers.
Supporters can’t even muster a weak defence for this. And readers must wonder if the Author has lost respect for himself and the authenticity of his work, which one supporter, hillariously called “superb”.
CONTINUITY ? That’s the best (unintendid) joke associated with the strip since Gould had B.O. spit tobacco juice over a Hotel Balcony, and it landed “splat” on a man reading a newspaper below.
You also have to wonder if the supporters just mouth, “fly-by-wire” defensive phrasing (“Dick first”) even if they have NO evidence to support their contention. Maybe just mindless emotions churning over

I sure have Jan, and I wouldnt mind if we could go back to that era where people took a tad more pride in themselves. But alas, those days are gone forever!!
And sure enough (waxer mustache) Mandrake’s magic “worked” and Bonnie’s top changed from black yesterday to white today and the Tracy Family all forgot that they ever had a son or a brother named JOE.
Yes ! The Artist changes the “color” for “contrast” but there is no excuse for a missing Joe. No explanation ! Unless you say you want to “write it off” as rank carelessness.
And I’d tell you, you’re right, and that Locher apparently - “likes it so”! Seems he thinks that’s “quality” writing.
Last week someone remarked that - “Locher’s writing want’s for nothing”.
What about Joe ? What about sound “continuity” ?
I guess that ommision blows away those outrageous “exagerations” ! And trust me, there will be more, and I’ll point them out again !

Ok Tracy didn’t have time to change but Bonnie changed her top. Yesterday and Sunday her top was light colored (Yellow) now she’s wearing black.
That Elephant is really poorly drawn.

Tracy’s trying to come up with some puns, but he’s coming up short. Wonder if he brought his trick card deck?

The same should go for Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Mandrake the Magican and the Phantom.
