Now Agent Ennen’s hair-mandibles are completely hiding her ears!
By the way:
How come people keep posting comments that repeat things I’ve already said? People, you should really read the comments that have already been posted so you’re not duplicating what others have stated.
If you’re not going to take the time to read what other folks have posted, why are you even here?
Can’t Ennen pull her gun out of her purse while Pops is occupied with trying to hold everyone at bay and opening the (now fierce) tiger’s cage? I see Ringo’s still sweating bbs. What happened to the gun in Pops right hand? He’s opening the cage with his right hand. Why doesn’t “kitty” take a chunk out of his hand. What’s the audience up to while all this is going on? This is a real three-ring circus!
Is Ringo still holding his whip? As others have said, isn’t Agent Enen armed? Isn’t Ringo likely to be packing heat since he thought his life was threatened? Doesn’t Tracy carry more than one gun? Has the clown actually frisked any of them? Is he gonna let the tiger out of the cage? And expect it to attack the other three? Shouldn’t the tiger be with the other circus animals elsewhere? Where is the animal trainer? Why was the tiger left behind in a small cage? When did the girl and the elephant leave? Where are the other circus performers? When did they leave?
Sydney - thank you very much for the answer. I was sure you were the right person to ask! Thanks!
However, it is sad to realize how many inconsistencies appear in the story
1) JUNIOR and SPARKLE’s new daughter Jewell: I will check the archives, as you tell me
2) TRACY;S SON - yes, I was talking about JOSEPH FLINTHEART TRACY. I remember reading vaguely something about the copyright problems between Collins and TMS.
3) The BONNIE situation is just too weird to be explained…
Again, thank you very much for your information and references, Sydney! - I was just wondering about those characters I liked and never saw again since I started reading the strip!
Solid observation there barticle shows just how rushed and carelessly thought out the story has been put together
Then Tracy still has his WRIST GEENEE and that’s armed with a powerful TASER GUN. Has the writer plum forgot it exists or is he just ignoring it, pretending it doesn’t exist, as it’s inconvenient for his planned Tiger cage sequence ? Why ARM characters and then WRITE as if the arms don’t exist ? That’s lazy and slouchy, tragic buffoonery work that crashes his credability, losing respect. But does he really care ?
NEVER BEFORE has a story had so many dissapointing contradiction, and lame clues that lead to no solutions.
Five posters on the Annie Board, yesterday started a Novena on the Dick Tracy strip.
OzzieJohn, I’m referring specifically to people who, time and again, have posted the exact, same observations that other people have already posted on the same day, regarding the same aspects of the same strip.
It’s perfectly fine to come here and read the strip and not read the comments if you’re not going to be commenting yourself. But when a person does post a comment that makes it seem like they’re not reading anybody else’s comments, that’s kind of weird.
Margueritem, I think you have it. Things will go horribly wrong (or right, depending on your point of view) and the tiger will get the clown. Then we’ll have several days of standing around watching him in a pool of blood. I don’t know whether Tracy, Agent M&M, or his own clumsiness will cause this to happen, but it seems consistent with other Tracy endings.
Can’t wait! Can’t wait! Can’t wait!
Where IS the Owner of the Circus ? Logically, that’s the first person Tracy should want to deal with. And by his own admission Ringo is not the Owner, nor is Mr.Pops
Another item to add to the growing list of FLAWS & OMMISSIONS ? ?
I’m having a difficult time figuring out WHY Agent M&M and the FBI were ever introduced into the story in the first place. Locher wastes so much print space from time to time on red herrings that don’t even fit into the plot - if there is a plot. Instead, we could have been watching Tony the Tiger making chili out of Bozo by now.
Why did Tracy’s backup leave the circus grounds completely? There is an active investigation going on (and I use the word “investigation” lightly) and they leave Tracy and an FBI agent alone? Totally ridiculous.
How the heck did the FBI find out about this? Never explained. Time and location have no meaning in this story, so maybe Ringo slipped out of the tale between panels and phoned them. Or they read about it in a paper. And speaking of phones, has the clown searched anyone for a cell phone? Mace? A tazer?

some folks are into just typing in the first thought that comes to their head , posting it and moving on to the next strip……
I think some folks don’t read the comments at all and have no interest in going back and reading the comments on comments.(like I do)
just folks with different agendas…not necessarily weird
I’m right there to agree with you on the absence of the hat. It was a bad call to have removed it, as it as it has damaged the image that we have grown to know.
.The Hat IS an intrinsic part of the Dick Tracy persona.
It’s never been announced WHY, like you, we have to assume he thinks it makes the character look modern while drawing him as an older man with grey hair over the temples. One every two years the hat appers at winter time for about a week. And as you may have noted the Sunday page logo (amusingly ?) still retains the hat !
The grey hair has gone now that Brozman is doing the art, and Tracy now looks much younger than he did back in January when Locher was doing the art..
Dick Locher, a weak writer was once tops at designing Rogues in the style we’ve come to know from years past. But he has made some AWFUL, counterproductive decisions, on changes in the strip. Hopefully, under a new team there will be a return to the style and class we once knew.
I’d be surprised if this strip lasts till December 2010 if nothing changes.
Today, another case in point on why it stinks…three disparate panels, none of which does anything to move the story forward. Eminently skippable. Is there an editorial dictate saying to keep Saturday redundant? If so, why have a Saturday strip?

The only reason I pull up Dick Tracy these days is to read the comments, which are infinitely more interesting and funny than the ‘funny’ itself. :-D

That’s a different tiger drawing. Brorman doesn’t have a good picture of a tiger in profile to copy.
