Are you kidding me? This is absolutely ridiculous. I was sure it was going to be Bonnie.

SNOTPICKERS GRAB BAG - Leave your cats outside as long as possible if you want them to be stolen or eaten. Try keeping an eye on your outdoor cat. Yeah, good luck with that. Dogs? Well I always let the dog have free run of the neighborhood. That way, when he does his business on someone else’s lawn, I don’t have to clean it. Besides, everyone knows that if you’re going to steal a pet you go to the mall pet store.

    From yesterday, thank you Margueritem

A pizza he craved and maybe a beer But Tess and Bonnie Braids Just had to drag him here The popcorn would have to do, he sadly lamented As the center ring show was being presented High in the air a lady named Louise Was thrilling the crowd Defying death on the trapeze Her defiance it seems, was to be all for naught Because in middle of a swing she was targeted and shot As she plummet earthward, the crowd heard this scream “It happened”, someone said, it was like a bad dream Tracy snapped to attention, a professional cop was he And went to the ring, to see what problem may be “She’s been shot “ said he, offering an early prognosis “It happened” was said by someone with a Bob Hope proboscis “Why kill an aerialist” it makes absolutely no sense” “Whoever has done this must be really dense” “To kill a performer in front of such a crowd” “No-one could miss it, I mean the POW was real loud” Hundreds of witnesses, a clown with a gun His work was cut out for him, this he could not shun “Seal the exits, everyone please stay seated” This was the response that surely was needed But Tracy was the cop, to be first on the spot So the witnesses were allowed to run away non-stop The freaks and the geeks they all gathered round All wanting to listen to what was about to go down The clown, Ringo, elephant girl and tiger too All were combined to make this story of poo A federal agent, an implausible plot Cut and paste panels, such Tommy rot Tiger chow was his fate, so it would seem Such an ignoble end, for one who was seen As the greatest detective of the comics without fail But wait! What’s this, someone grabbed the tigers tail Will he be succored in this dire time of need Or will this just be a delay for the tiger to feed The days drag on and on and so does this poem One would think I was writing a scholarly tome.

Textbook quickie note: don’t try to touch a cat who’s back is arched like that. You’re just asking for trouble.

DT as best detective: Oh, please. Maybe once upon a time, but these days a rank newbie in the force could do a better job. Way too many mistakes were made here and I have to ask if DL even likes cops, much less having any understanding of the job they do.

Here’s an idea. Take a day off, and go down to the police building and see if you can snag a ride with a real cop. It might be worth something to at least get an idea of real police procedure so you can write a more believable strip. Just a thought.

Don’t leave your pets outdoors reminds me of the Beverly Hillbillies episode when the house was full of cats because the Clampetts heard there was a cat burgular in the neighbourhood.

Yep. This whole scenario has the feeling of surreal play. Time is meaningless, characters come and go for no reason, the size of the tent is never made clear, activities such as the removal of the body and the transfer of the threatening-ransom-threatening notes to police HQ are hinted at but not shown, logical questions, such as where did the notes originate are never asked, etc. And now, the villains don’t notice that Fee Fi is missing.

That’s not just any Native American; It’s Tonto!

Panel Two: Looking at the position of Pops’s fingers, I have to wonder about the shape of that pistol’s grip. Would anybody care to hazard a guess as to the make and model of this firearm?

Lastly, I believe the spiked bracelets belong to the giant, “strongman” we’ve seen milling about in one or two installments (I guess that’s who Fee Fi is?). Either that, or somebody in the circus is a black metal enthusiast.

The real question is, are they holding the tail to save Tracy and Ennen, or merely restraining Kitty until Pops concludes his month-long monologue?

So now one would expect Barb to shoot Fee Fi for getting in the way like she did with Louise.

This perfect plan overlooks the fact that they’re still all suspects in the murder of Louise, or should be anyway since a tent full of people witnessed Ringo didn’t have a gun. In a normal world this perfect plan would just complicate matters for them. But here only the ridiculous happens.

Mattie, time to take your meds. I, for one, enjoy Sydney’s opinions, and I am sure his day is ruined because you won’t talk directly to him. As a matter-of-fact, Mattie, your refusal to take your meds and your signature tantrums are prime attractions for a lot of the participants on this board. When you don your holier-than-thou dunce cap, remember who conspired to use this website to promote and launch their own personal opus. Remember Liam’s sermon to you about “spam?” That didn’t stop you, did it?

Finally, Sydney’s name isn’t “old man”.

This seems like as good a time as any to introduce you all to the evil clown that Mr. Pops has nightmares about:

“…he used more elaborate methods to capture men and women alike, and imprison them inside the animals in his circus.”

Well imagine ! Flouncing and puffing up yourself ! Are you sure your name is M att and not M ary ?

I think I’ll have to consider being THROUGH reading your little comic strips. And all this time I’d planned to give you TOP rate “critiques”, and free of charge, to help guide you to success. The current D.T. strip is of absolutely NO help !

Next time you feel the need to Pout and Stomp a foot, do it on a door mat in Naperville, while lustily shaking the door Knob, while shouting … “SAM” !

Seems we have different objectives. I support the Dick Tracy comic strip AND indirectly Sam Catchem !

WHO or WHAT do you support ?

Is this what an Ed Wood comic strip would be like if Eddie were still around? The copy/paste routines remind of Ed’s use of stock footage. There’s a similar lack of logic and continuity. Locher=Wood?

As I watch the Dick Tracy comic strip disintigrate before my eyes, As Locher gets rid of characters that WORK, he reminds me of the petulant little boy who carlessly pulls his TOY appart throws away key sections and then gets frustrated because he can’t assemble them into something acceptable. .

Detective, Lt. Teevo, the “nothing” man, distinguished by NO first name, NO personality, NO family, NO record of achievement, NO gun, NOT even a Wrist Geenee (nothing to make him look REAL) IS a character (sorry, a trivial “functionary”), born out of angst and the thwarting of finding workable human alternatives.

It answers the query, “Why Traze-R?” Like a fruitless search in the wilderness !

Hot to trot but paralyzed with inability ! A “loose cannon”, a CHANGE Dragon … but no FIRE in the belly !

With all his delight in laying out “gambling puns”, he can’t raise the ante, if Teevo is the only “face” card in his hand !

Time to FOLD Dicky ! Better you’d held on to the “trump” card you discarded !

I can’t help being reminded of a certain episode of the old live-action “Batman” TV show of the 60s: Catwoman trapped Batman in a tiger cage, and said, “He should be very hungry – I haven’t fed him in three days.”

To which Batman (Adam West) replied, “That’s irresponsible, Catwoman – you should take better care of your pets.” even as he was retreating into a corner of the cage, away from the growling tiger.

Last panel Hold the tiger reminds of the Kings sisters sing Hold the Tiger. Would the studed brace belown to the strong man? For me on the crimestopers for cats they are in abundance like squirels I wouldn’t really miss them. I already have one at home, and he gets to be a big pain at times.

Tigers don’t just stand there growling in someone’s face; they jump on their prey and bit them in the neck. And no strong man is going to keep a 600 lb tiger from jumping by holding on to it’s tail.

Maybe Locher should have the “Native American” steal the tiger. That would be just as believable.

Seems Mattie has gone “far enough” to answer the question on WHO or WHAT he supports.

I’ve never really doubted it … good confession. He supports DICK … not Tracy …. just Locher.

To focus on NAMES is to conveniently loose sight of the POINT. The import of RESULTS. It’s not genocide, just relentless character “assassinations”

First there was Junior (now John). Then there WAS Patton (now gone), Sam on the edge, awaiting the final “KICK”. And a LIZ, who doesn’t look anything like our LIZZ, the sexy chick !

All we may have left now of the original HQ regulars is Dick Tracy … and heck, the strip is “named” after him !

Sorry, “Going too far” …. began a long time ago, with one of the above characters. The strip is an inappropriate vehicle to air and impose on readers, personal or family memorials

I noticed the caption, “The deserted circus grounds”. The rice crispies pouring from the tent a month or so ago must have been the crowd leaving after Louise Trapeze was shot.
