I love to watch films of that era. We had only one movie in town back then, and probably changed no more often than weekly- and it cost a whole quarter! And I don’t remember many guests on Lucy- Show of Shows was really FUNNY – too bad they didn’t have the same taping system – Sid and Imogene were hilarious! and they had great writers!
Mr. Ritter was the grocery man. Mrs. Trumble had a huge crush on him. I believe Edward Everett Horton played Mr. Ritter. I Love Lucy is one of, if not, the BEST show ever, and I have seen them all hundreds of times! True classic TV at its finest, IMHO!

Huh. I watched ILL as a kid, but not at age 6. And I have no memory of either of those characters.

Ruthie though watching very old shows is seeing how those old shows are better then some of the new shows.

I’ve known of Claudette Colbert since I was a kid. She and Fred MacMurray hung out with Ma and Pa Kettle.
