They want Andy to find a job and when he gets the nerve to go for one, they say no to the one he’ll be perfect at.

I was an unofficial part-time beer taster while stationed in Germany from 1963-66. The local breweries offered tours, after which you would fill out a form giving your opinion of the product. Then you moved to a hospitality room where you were given all the beer you could drink and all the wurst you could eat. Quite possibly the best times of my life.

That is Andy’s ideal job! Flo would be happy if Andy got a job . even as a Beer Taster. She would just be happy as there would be more income. It’s a pity Flo doesn’t enjoy her job as a cleaner. I wouldn’t either!

Couldn’t he just give Andy a call when an opening comes up? He can almost always be contacted at home or the pub.

There actually is such a thing.

A professional beer taster is commonly referred to as an “expert cicerone” or a “master cicerone. ” This is an official title awarded by the Cicerone Certification Program to individuals who have demonstrated a deep understanding of beer, brewing processes, and beer ingredients.

This includes knowledge of various styles of beer, beer tasting techniques, beer evaluation methods, and beer pairing as well as an understanding of safety, sanitation, business, and draught beer systems.
