I love Satch. Like many of us, he makes people confuse “nice” with “not all there.” Oh, he’s all there. Believe it. But life is easier in some ways when you choose nice.

“My mother always used to say to me, she’d say “Elwood”—she always called me Elwood—“Elwood, in this life you can be oh, so smart, or oh, so pleasant.” For years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." (James Stuart in Harvey)

I’m with Satchel on this. First prove the Erwin Schrödinger actualy had a cat. I mean have ever seen his cat? If you run your can openner who’s there first, Pavlov’s dogs or Schrödinger hypotetical Cat. And even if he had a cat would it be dumb enough to stay in that box. Not even Bucky’s that dumb.

@orinoco womble: Major win for the Harvey reference. Oh, Jimmy Stewart! One of a kind, for sure, and he played that role to the hilt.

Many years ago there was a HILARIOUS “Get Fuzzy” in which the 2 animals are doing an Abbott and Costello routine over and over again and Rob is trying to do paperwork and yells “Stop it! Stop it!” I still laugh when I think of it. Can anyone get a reproduction of that one?

This dog reminds me of Satch – partly because of his sidelong look – http://www.lensculture.com/levine.html?thisPic=9

Arye Uygur I haven’t found the actual strip you’re looking for, but I did find out the title of it on Wikipedia (under Abbott and Costello Who’s On First routine, derivations). It’s entitled: “Hu’s On First?”. Maybe this will help you in your search?

I agree with Satchel. Schrödinger would make a bad Precedent – He’d never be able to get a decision out of Congress.

So if Schrödinger’s tree falls in the forest, does it make any noise?

As somebody who has taught graduate level quantum mechanics, let me provide the following quote from a former student of the subject: “Look, I tried the cat experiment. The first three times the cat was alive. The forth time the cat was dead. The cat remained dead for the remaining 96 trials. Am I doing something wrong?”

If it makes you feel better, Schrodinger’s Cat beats all physicist up at some point. Still getting my butt kicked by quantum physics but as Feynman said: "I think I can safely say that no one understands quantum mechanics.’’

@Konoko, thank you so much! I’ll repeat my thanks in Saturday’s version, which will appear in a few minyes so you can see it. I’m glad I have the dialogue. Is it possible for you to upload the strip here? I’ve never heard of aanyone posting their email address on Go Comics, but I’m almost tempted in order to see the original comic again. Thank you so much!!
