Yeah this time the Find-It is clear as a bell. Marguerite — wow! They sprung for 2-Buck Chuck?Yeah, I suppose they don’t drink enough wine to buy a gallon in a cardboard box at Big Lots, so they had to pay 2 whole dollars for one bottle. Do they sell Two Buck Chuck in Illinois though? And Mikie — that’s to make up for the fact that when he wants to do arithmetic, he can’t keep even one digit in his mind. I guess Julie gave him an extra one so he can add things up to 11.
I wouldn’t answer the phone at dinner time. Those telemarketers have a knack for calling at that time. It certainly wouldn’t be your friends or family calling.
When I sit down to a hot meal, I even tell my kids to call back a little later (they understand)- as to markerters, I don’t even put the phone to my ear- just a quick hangup so the phone does not continue to ring- and I only see pork chops and no wine- looks like water but Penny’s probably have soda.
Actually, this makes me feel meloncholy… to think that the Penny’s themselves do not value their own self-worth to not engage with telephone solicitors for two hours let alone during a dinner together….. and especially an anniversary dinner together….. it just has me feeling sad. There are people who do think in this way, and this particular instance is just too regretful.
Can totally relate — my Mom does the same thing! Why not cut them off at the start, say “I’m not interested, have a nice evening” and hang up?!? That’s what I do.

Ah, Burl, ever the romantic; ever the razor-sharp prioritizer. Does anyone else think he has six digits on his left hand?
