Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for July 22, 1987
Transcript:
Calvin: One of the best things about summer is going to sleep with the fan on. The gentle breeze blowing, the droning hum... Everything seems safe and serene when the fan is on. It's cool and lulling and perfect for sleep. It almost lets one forget he has a heavy fur coat for a bunkmate. Hobbes: If you don't like it, there's plenty of room on the floor, buster.

Some of these nights, even a fan doesn’t cut it.

You can always sleep naked, Calvin. Don’t use the covers and keep a distance from Hobbes.

Hobbes it’s Calvin’s bed. Nice job. Make a deal with Calvin, If he doesn’t read and memorize my boring science comment with a few confusing typos and memorize it, you won;t move or go on the floor.

The hum drowns out the slobbering of the monsters under the bed.
