Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson for March 07, 1991
Transcript:
Hobbes: An ordinary cheetah can run over 60 miles an hour. A human can hardly do a quarter of that. What a joke! Calvin: You think cats are so great! Well humans don't have to be so fast or so strong because we're much smarter! If cats are so great, how come they don't have cars, or rockets, or bombs, or nuclear...um...reactors, or...or...I mean... Hobbes: And we can see six times better at night than you can! Six times! And boy, talk about agility! Calvin: Hmph.

Cheetahs may be much faster than humans but we can cover much much longer distances at full speed.

If animals are so smart, how come they don’t have any crappy inventions?

But humans also have sweat which lets us run longer and the ability to throw things far and accurate.

The seriousness of some these discussions. Just goes to show how Hobbes can rile people up.

Why is Hobbes bragging about cheetahs if he’s a tiger? Cheetahs aren’t even in the same genus as tigers. (Tiger- Panthera tigris, Cheetah- Acinonyx jubatus)
