I love Rory’s definition!

Good fences make good neighbors.

Though most dictionaries say origin unknown, I found these three possible origins (the last 2 are somewhat similar) for the word.

I have several nincoms in my neighborhood.

this one really started my day with a HUGE LAUGH!!!!

Keep those nincoms on a leash and carry a plastic bag when you walk them . . .

I know little Rory. It must be such a burden for a sheep so tiny!

My neighbors must have several nincoms, judging by my yard. Thanks, Rory – now I know!
