How do you avoid getting samonella from eating Turducken? Isn’t the center (the chicken) undercooked? The turkey part should be done OK, the duck part is “iffy”, I’m NOT sure at all about the chicken part—-How long do you cook it? Does it get done in the center without turning the outside to ash? Great joke, though!

Turducken takes 5 to 6 hours to cook and it has to rest for 30 to 45 minutes. It is cooked at 325 degrees with the turkey being the bigger bird it takes the longest and the chicken being the bird with the white meat that a duck doesn’t have would dry out first. The fat of the duck also helps keep the chicken moist, but no they all cook appropriately.
