How great would it be if we all preceded our own laughter with “Laugh (our respective occupation) laugh”? I think that would be just fantastic.

At least we got some sound advice in Crimestoppers Textbook… “Make certain the website is secure.” We all know that our bank account and credit card information should only be supplied by email to the African guy that is going to make us rich!

Oh MAN. Look, the thing is, I can see where Locher had a cool story in his head, crazy circus, everybody with their own agenda, etc. It could have worked. If TOLD PROPERLY. ie, without just characters standing around in the same place for four months talking a lot but not saying anything.

I’ve been ripping on Locher’s writing for as long as I’ve been ripping on this strip. Now I’m ready to start ripping on Brozman’s art. He doesn’t have much to work with, I grant you, but he’s not doing much with it either. Is what I say.

ps I don’t have the energy to go check, but isn’t a lot of the art in this strip recycled from other strips?

How did Tracy, after standing around for months, come to his conclusion? Hunch, perhaps? Sigh…

The clowns flat hair and his big lips is the closest thing we have had to ” FLAT TOP” for a long time.

I just LOVE this fresh burst of Bravado, gone are the “chicken legs” of late Oct. early Nov. All the old swagger and panache are back again. For a btief moment there it was the Tracy of yore

But I wish Dicky Locher would have told us he was going to change the script once again. This sort of “fluctuating decisions” on ”what happened (?)” only serves to mislead readers. Is this what our buddy Mattie calls ”superbly building suspense” ? We have a writer who changes story facts faster than one could “crack” Ringo’s Circus whip !

All along we thought that the Circus was Ringo’s. After all, Dicky L. wrote via Tracy … 8-10-09 : “Let’s get this straight, you’re the Owner and Ringmaster of the O’Connel Circus ..” ** That statement was left to stand, now in panel 2 today it’s a different story -

Then in panel 3 we see Tracy stating that Barb Els “admitted” shooting Louise Trapeze, but that simply never happened. that was just an unconfirmed statment from Mr.Pops !

What happen to all them clues, finger prints, DNA, ransom notes etc. Apparently, not worth a hill of beans to the outcome ! As they say here he has Tracy making AS IF … he was a detective !

And tell us now Mattie, how come “yu fren” Dicky could change up things so ? How he made all them police just vaporize so, when Pops pull the gun ??

Tracy is clearly a Manchurian Candidate of sorts, and serves a shadow organization within our federal government. Agent Ennen is his handler, and was sent to “activate” him. The totally implausible scenario Tracy’s just outlined is nothing more than a narrative she fed him, an official cover story which will be used to bury the real truth of what went on at the circus and why.

Think of the circus as Germany right before WW II and the murder of Louise as the burning of the Reichstag.

Pops has every right to laugh. He’s already been to prison, for a fairly serious crime. But thanks to a catch and release justice system he was released early, with every intention in the world of commiting even worse crimes. Why shouldnt he laugh? He’ll probably be out even sooner this time. And we’ll have to see some other ridiculous hare-brained plot unfold.

This bizarre story telling (yes today. no* tomorrow) can’t be taken seriously. Readers who liked this great strip from the past can only take it as a *”sardonic” form of relief. Regarded then, as a clumsy, comedic offering, it squeeks by with a “pass” on that count and that’s the high octane fuel that keeps this board humming ! So unlike the Annie board and it’s excellent style of writing.

And Jumbo is perfectly right, there continues to be recurring paste up panels. Nothing “new” Locher has done it for years !

And GEE ! I wish to hell GROCKSTEIN would return, even under another name ! How about “Locherstein ?”

And meanwhile, everybody joins the Clown *..* in “laughing” that Locher is allowed to keep his JOB after producing “bull” and nonsense.

Watch out for the old fake hands gag Tracy! Or better yet, THINK of the old fake hands gag Locher!

Use of colring is atrocious. Chester Gould would never have resorted to such a manner. This present state of DT has been awful in art work and story line. Yet he still has some die hard fans who think he’s great. Well, there are those who think it is funny to put whooope cushions under people’s seats.

Everything’s changing colors from panel to panel… has the circus become a disco?

I have no brief for Brozman who I feel sure now does the coloring, Locher can’t hog everything ;-). So I must agree with the sentiment above.

I’m no expert, but give credit where due - Locher’s Sunday color page’s were often a joy to behold !

Mattie. might tell us that’s the “hallmark” of a good detective … stick-to-it-ivness !

For crimestopers what is surprising the idiots that say we won money from the UK why don’t they give that up. We here got one of those fake big checks for mystery shoppers for I thin $2,700 phony addres and name. I asked are bank if they can check it out without cashing to verfiy authinecity they can but we never did. We trashed the boggus check. The internet I don’t even trust like Craigslist I glad they are watching that site for scams. I wonder what Mr. Pops looks like without clown makeup?
