Yeah, here in Michigan they passed a state law that school can’t start until after Labor Day. It was an effort to make sure the summer tourism season lasts until September.
Whatever nut balls decided to start the school year during the summer should have had their heads examined. Where I live, where some of the schools start in August, they close down the public pools so kids can’t play hookey and go swimming. I wouldn’t blame them one bit for trying if the pools stayed open. The school year should start in September like it use to when I went to school. And yeah, that was a very long time ago. Michigan has the right idea. Hmm, gives me something to think about.

Comic strip writers are way outdated. They need to get out more often. School started back today. Some started last week.
