Back when you used to require an antenna to pick up your television stations, if you did not like your neighbor or his choice of TV stations, you could string thin wires to your ceiling in a asterisk pattern and then set up a Jacob’s Ladder below it. The wires would broadcast the electrical disturbance and you’d effectively nuke your neighbor’s TV reception.
My uncle had one of the first remote controlled TVs. My Dad figured out he could change the channel or turn the TV off by jiggling coins in his pocket. Drove my uncle nuts until he found out what was happening.

I had the same TV as a neighbor. Once in a while I would walk by the window and shut their TV off, just for laughs.

Wish I had my neighbors’ remotes - when then plaster cracks on the walls, and the textures flakes off the ceiling, smething’s too loud.
