Regardless of what anyone thinks of the Tea Party, the Congress, conservatives, liberals, or what-have-you…the only reason we would default on our debt is if our Treasury Department makes a conscious decision not to make the payments in lieu of cutting spending elsewhere. Why should the Right worry about Default? It would be Obama’s decision to go that route, just as the threat of not making SS payments is a mere tactic.
