But I doubt Earl would get any enjoyment out of Opal being at the hardware store with him either.

Shoe store. Don’t make my mistake and drag your better half in a hardware store. She found tons to interest her. And don’t get me going about teaching your wife to fish.

I have you all beat. I was born there and lived in the general environs for 14 years.

I loved John Denver, and whatever singer wrote that song he helped make popular, but Toledo isn’t that boring. :))
