Aren’t you happy this is in b&w? You have a jar labeled Red, another labeled Blue, and the last one labeled Green. But having the actual colors would destroy something I guess about this “visual medium”. What a pile of …
I really like seeing some of the comics in b/w. It gives me a chance to appreciate the drawing… for the drawing. There are some strips, of course, where b/w wouldn’t work, like“Lost Side of Suburbia” and “The Lefty Bosco Picture Show” but it doesn’t bother me a bit if the others go minimalist for a bit.
SInce the unmixed paints are labeled, seeing them in color would be superfluous. Since the paint in the blender and on the walls is a mixture of the three, it’d be a muddy brown. So what are we missing by having it in black and white?
Wait what? I thought Heart of the City and Lio were always in b&w. I’m fine with that. I don’t really care why they don’t color them, but it’s probably because Mark doesn’t want to be bothered by the colorist. “What color is Heart’s tutu supposed to be again?” Cranking out 2 strips a day has to be exhausting when most cartoonist can barely make their deadlines with just one.

I, too, remember when getting the Sunday funnies in color was a big deal.
