Time for a teachable moment..“Son, two of the worst things you can be in life are stupid and lazy, and that answer sounds like both." (smile) "Now cut the nonsense, get to work, and do it all. Now. Then TV.” (smile) “Holler if you need help with anything.”.And mean every word.
That reminds me of me … now I"m 30 and going to college for the first time (I just wasn’t ready at 21.)BUT the above was an actual quote from Aaron (Lynn’s son).
My daughter and I had to define how much homework really means.. “A (little) bit” = 1 or 2 pages; “Some” = 3 or 4 pages; and “A lot” = 5 or more. (She had told me she had a little bit and it was 5 or 6 pages…)
Do teachers actually check/grade all that home work? my oldest boy got an assignment to do a 10-page essay in high school. Pages 1,2 and 10 were researched. Pages 3 thru 9 were copied from Spanish, German, and Turkish magazines, as fillers. He passed.
You’re only going to do “just a bit” of your homework? That’s what you think! If John is any kind of parent at all, you’ll be doing the whole thing . . . not just a “bit” of it!
exturk: Get your son into MY class and I can guarantee that I WILL check!! I am also going to kick your son’s butt for cheating and call you in for a little chat!!

You’ll be sorry. Better do it all or there will be problems for you. Consequences. There are always consequences.
