    Well, one of evolution’s main things is survival of the fittest. The fittest doesn’t necessarily mean the strongest, it just means best able to survive (the fastest, the smartest, the best camouflaged, etc.). If being pitiful helps you survive, then that makes you the fittest. This croc, though, is not in the least pitiful.

    I like how oblivious Darwin looks in the last frame. It’s standard for Zebra, but interesting to see a “real person” unfazed by the croc’s reply.

    A friend of Darwin’s wife, one Lady Hope, claimed she visited Darwin on his deathbed and said he denied believing in his life’s work. His children were present with him in the days preceding his death and denied the visit and statement ever took place.
