What significant buried treasure, found in the last decade, is likely to be split between the metal-detecting enthusiast who found the coins and the owner of the land he was working on?

You should have a dog, Elloit. A dog would be able to sniff out and dig out those treasures for you.

We were looking for sea shells at the beach this summer but found only a few until we started digging in the sand. We found a whole lot then, plus shark teeth. Eliot is just not digging in the right place!

Tony’s question sounds like the Terry Herbert find in South Staffordshire, England. He found 5kg of gold and 2.5kg of silver in a farmers field. The stash is expected to fetch over $100,000, probably due to its antiquity since the stash is estimated to have come from 650 A.D.

What are the odds of that happening? Pretty good I guess!
