Well, if you think too long about what the critters that you enjoy eating eat, you may as well go outside and learn photosynthesis. :) I quit worrying about the whole thing long since.
Hehehe. I’ve met people who think that meat and milk come from (and presumably are grown in) the store. And that won’t even eat an apple or plum plucked from the tree. What will they eat if they think those things through a bit more?
The big tank in the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma is open from the top level. They have some small sharks there, and I’ve been tempted to prick my finger and drop some blood in there to see if they would notice. I haven’t actually tried it, though. And, for the last time, these strips are reruns from two years ago. The current strips are accessible from the blue Creators.com link on the right.
Since watching “Food, Inc” I eat no processed food and all my meat is organic now (no hormones, pesticides or preservatives). I also have a friend with chickens who sells her eggs- and the chickens are SO clean and beautiful and get good food like a healthy pet.
And animals get lots of good minerals even from bugs and soil that they consume which can nourish them more, but would be unappealing to us. The fact that a goldfish will eat anything falling in the water is no problem (keeps the water cleaner and is not a major part of the diet) -and that is not even a fish anyone would consume. I don’t eat catfish or other bottom feeders either.
