I have heard that some synthetics are also heat resistant, but I’ve learned to live with existing formica which is mostly white, to easy to see anything (including stains and one burn). I don’t think I will ever upgrade but if I did it would be a composite quartz product that resembles granite (and a light color).
Today James was angry with the cards in clubs. He wants them to look like the old medieval ones that looked like a club “to hit a bad guy”.

Who knew granite makes great ant camouflage?

Avis’ new toy is now spoiled, she’ll never be able to look at it without imagining ants crawling on it. :-D

What type of countertops are suggested?
Stainless steel? (ugly, but probably the safest and most durable. Also hard to find places that sell it)
Wood? (even harder to sanitize)
Formica? (the word is Latin for “ants”! what more can I say??)

What in the world do you usually do on your countertop. No, nevermind, I don’t want to know. I usually use a cutting board for food of any kind. ????
