I used to wonder if that’s what my dog did all day!

It must be doggy radar…they wait quietly all day, then come to life when it’s time for their pet humans to come home! Same situation with the cats, so you just know they’re all comparing notes—or placing bets on what time Mommy gets home!

Sad story. Kids dog would go meet the bus. One day he crossed in front of the bus and was run over. True story.

@ batterd_citizen: I hope she gets it, she deserves it. My cats find things for me and I reward them. My 2 black cats sit in the front window and wait for us to return.

Many years ago I had a cat that would go sit by the the door about 20 minutes before ‘Daddy’ got home from work so she could greet him when he came in. She was close to frantic one night when he was over an hour late because of a storm.

“Buster” would sit by the house up on our hill and watch for the bus. When he saw it coming he would run down our 130 yd. lane and meet me just as the bus pulled up. Ah, wonderful memories. My BUDDY

A neighbor used to come out every day at the same time to give his dog dinner and a treat. He started handing my dog a treat over the fence. Pretty soon, she was there waiting every night.

Oh look how cute. I think I am starting to like this comic more than Calvin and Hobbes. Still good though. :)

This brought back many memories to me too. We had a collie named “Lady” and she’s the onewho adopted us. She would hear the bus even whenit was still far away (always amazed me) and go sit atthe end of the driveway and when I would see her tailwagging furiously, I knew Linda’s bus was close.

What a joyful reunion these two had each time.

And then, somebody stole her. Try to imagine mylittle girl crying her heart out every day. I still gettears in my eyes just thinking about it.

Brian, you have encapsulate d the emotions of dog lovers with this depiction of Rovers wait. The fondness for our K-9 companions grows more (it didn’t seem possible) with each of your comics. Thank you!
