Unfortunetly I have not had a chance to catch Eureka at all :( I have heard alot of good things, I felt this way about Justice League Unlimited but hey I’m a grown man who watches cartoons :(
tv networks are crap. let’s replace good shows with crap reality shows. tlc and discovery channel used to be informative tv like how things work and mysteries of the known universe, but they have to shows about crab fishing and families with 20 kids. tv is becoming more and more the idiot box.
Part of the problem is our expectations of television in the US- on the part of the audience and of the networks both. We think in terms of the ongoing, open ended series. Anything finite is labeled a ‘miniseries,’ yet some shows might be better off if they were created with a specific end in sight. A prime example is TWIN PEAKS. They started strong, and really lost their support. Had they worked toward the resolution of their primary storyline and wrapped, I think they could have gone out on top. The UK model seems better. Make a set number of episodes, and then, if the show does really well, consider renewing it for another set number, and so on.
Roy, let it go. ‘Eureka’ has run its course and has jumped the sharl at least twice IMO. I love the show, but it’s just repetitive. Rand new danger, usually caused or exacerbated by Fargo with Jack coming into save the day with his common sense way of doing things (though it may be dangerous to his person)
I enjoy Eureka. It’s got to be hard to come up with a mostly different way to endanger the town every week. Even if there are similarities in the plot, it’s still fun.
Stargate created its own universe. Unfortunately, the Network reduced funding dramaticly for SG: Atlantis and SG: Universe. (and SG: Universe needed the 1st season to find its footing). I miss Farscape. Babylon 5. SG: Universe. Will miss Eureka.

Eureka shouldn’t get cancelled, but I must say I think their storylines have been getting a bit too far out there.

I’m surprised Stargate has been on as long as it has.

The latest season definitely wasn’t the best, but I’ll still miss Eureka.
