What do you wanna bet that Rosa has an entirely different view on the date? Or that Gunther is just too confused about it to make sense of how it actually went?

I wish there were a “thumbs up, thumbs down” option on this site. Sometimes I think some of the comments are unnecessary & just this side of being smut, so are just shy of needing flagging. A thumbs down option would let them know how many people think they’re pushing it when it would be too harsh to flag them (or they’re just plain idiotic). It would also show some how many people think their comments are intelligent, funny, insightful, etc., without having to hit “reply” to do it. Like thumbs down to all the flakes who insist that Gunther & Quill are gay.

Jug, I don’t generally respond to “Devil’s Advocate” posts but I think a few notes are called for this time. 1) Several posts over time have suggested that Gunther is gay and/or he needs to come out of the closet. I’m not interested enough to track them down. 2) I hadn’t seen a profile of Luann’s audience so I’d be interested on what data shows that it is “strongly gay”. 3) I haven’t read Archie for years so I’ll take your word that there is a gay character. 4) I suspect that you may be right that “most gays are liberal” because they want laws to change so they can get more rights for their lifestyle – Republicans tend to be more conservative. 5) Lastly, I don’t think Greg needs to “tap into this audience” to be successful – he seems to be doing well just the way he draws it now.

What clues did Greg lay out that Quill is gay? Do tell.

Oh. That was a musical play. I forgot. John Travolta acted in a musical film twice…Saturday Night Fever and Grease…and he is very hetero. So, @Jughead, there is no point in stereotyping. Quill can be very well another John Travolta. I also quite seriously doubt Greg is interested in featuring another Kevin Keller. Ann is enough, and she is part-time character, and that in itself is sufficient for the homo story arc. I don’t think he is interested in a full-time homo character.

Rolling my eyes here…there are churches whose pastors will marry same-sex couples – a ceremony with blessing without the legal documentation. Some pastors believe in equal rights and are open minded. I know Catholic is very much against homosexuality and will be their stronghold for long time to come but other religions are now turning the other way. Pastors cannot go against their parishioners who may have homo members in the family. I personally attended a church wedding of a gay couple. It was nice and ordinary, pretty much the same as a hetero wedding. Not only that, more and more states are now allowing legal gay marriages. Many states have domestic partner rights already in place.Sounds like you are against homosexuality? People who stereotype tend to be prejudicial.
