Fireflies are always out to spark an argument. (Light pollution is a serious issue with amateur and professional astronomers, by the way.)

A good East Coast boy like me knew I was using too many drugs when I lived on the Sahara a few years and saw all these thing in the night sky. I mean, I thought there were 4 stars.

I once ate a firefly. I am another reason for their decline, I guess.

I have little patience for fireflies with attitude!

P.S. FB—where I am in the great Midwest, “lightning bug” is the regular term; I used that other term above simply as a concession to stylistic conformity. Sigh!

Heads up People & other FA readers of the lower orders! To edit an error, you can highlight your “thoughts”, copy them, delete your submission. Then you paste what you copied in the submission box and then edit. You may lose a favored first position but this works.

Here on the Florida Atlantic coast, light pollution is a serious problem because ours is a major sea turtle nesting area. The light confuses the babies who are designed to run for the phosphorous glow from the waves, and many never make it to the water because they go for the yard security lights instead.

BTW, there is nothing cuter than a whole gang of baby turtles scurrying their little hearts out, heading for their home.

It’s funny, whenever I get seriously polluted everything seems too bright!

I will be scarce to invisible over the next ten days. I am off to Alberta. Whatever shall I do without my morning dose of Teresa. Oops! The wording sounds like an STD.

Although I’m not a big gun guy, I like your “girl with a gun” picture. Maybe you need a new “girls with guns” category on Frog Blog. :)

To kick another one off, I’ll link to one of my favorite autochromes, a young girl posing with her gun. A color picture from over 100 years ago, in 1910: http://goo.gl/EqaIX

And she can be a poster child, too! :) I love that picture because she’s all dressed up all pretty, and she’s holding the rifle so naturally that you know that she was prepared to use it, like the proper tool it was back then.

Light pollution is a direct function of too many people.Near a heavily armed female, repeat after me:“The outfit doesn’t make your butt look big.“It’s the chocolate.”Population reduction will ensue.

So, for a mere $54.57 I can order a can of gold Esslack from the Deli Garage. Jolihollahi… I think I’ll wait awhile for my first golden steak…

Why does it say pollutors instead of polluters? I hope there’s a Frog Applause whipping beet handy.
