Green blouse with Orange flowers……. last worn Sept 29… to the TV dinner party… and the next day to the company picnic and again on the Oct 4 th to see Dr Harris……..and now today…… one last outing…..?? That XXL might look very nice on JOY……!, Lets ask SusanShunshine what the XXL says on its back side…….
So utterly sad (and yet delightfully funny) a comic today. The body is barely cold, and she is emotionally up for a rummage sale of his things. She is one COLD woman…. and so sadly Crustwoodian.
I have favorite clothes for hanging around the house – (mostly wash and wear) and many favorite outfits for shopping then there are my costumes – (mostly silk and linen with elaborate decoration of beading and needlework) I still have a large variety of nice business suits, haven’t decided to get rid of those because I’m partial to a lot of color but seeing me you might comment on how often I wear the same (for similar things).
I’ve bought a few things at neighbor’s sales – best was probably a solid brass eagle which some idiot had painted black. It now lives on top my pantry niche- a 1’ projection out of the wall at 1/2 height (on a 16’ wall, it is just 8’ high, but pantry is 3’ deep). I keep all kinds of stuff in there (some extra baking supplies and cereals) but it is a good place for chochkys of good size.
And I doubt that the beer steins are the nice decorative ones that anyone would want to collect. Susan, you didn’t mention Bev’s cash box with her cigs. Only relative I ever got to choose things from is my dad. I kept 2 bolo ties (one was a gift from me) and the other also pretty- sometimes have worn one.
And Realist – nobody’s poking fun at having to wear the same clothes multiple times!
We’re poking fun at a COMIC STRIP, where the same blouse gets drawn over and over, for almost every occasion, and the colorist fills it in the same way every time….
And at JOY, because she has to post reminders to herself to “rinse” her bra, giving us no confidence in her standards of hygiene.
I myself tend to buy duplicates of inexpensive wardrobe standards — I’m not REALLY wearing the same black tank top I wore Saturday, so maybe Joy has a dozen of that blouse.
But we find it funnier that she probably doesn’t, and also doesn’t rinse it with any great regularity.
If she were homeless, or penniless, we wouldn’t poke fun. But she’s Penny-ish.
Actually…. neither choice fits…… I undesatnd that men tend to wash and wear the same cloths over and over till worn out….. and then they switch to the next item…. ( ME )… Women don’t….. and they also frown on this habit.Cultures are different also…. I have Serbian neighbors that pretty much just wear black……….. Fine with me…….I probly have 100 shirts and wear maybe 25 of them…………. Hating to spend the time to make a new outfit… and also hating to shop ………..Too much thinking and too much stress……..

Wow, the body’s hardly even cold. And she’s selling off his stuff. Talk about a Merry widow.

Yeah, Ol’ What’s His Name really liked that whatever it was. Wanna go dancin’ tonight?
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 13 years ago
Wow, you guys beat me to it.
She can’t get rid of him fast enough. “Go 4 It”.
Livin’ it up.
Do I see her cigs and her ash tray down at her feet?
No doubt now that ol’ “Deadwood” Jack is out of the way, she’s got her eye on some o’ them hotties down at the Crustwood OddFellows lodge.
They know how to appreciate a woman with a life insurance settlement and a full social security check.

Meanwhile, Good Morning, Mikie, Oddball, and the rest of Crustwood!
I’m baaack! Hope you’re all doing well – and Mikie, that you’re recovering nicely.
Look, Gymshoe — it must be getting a bit dirty, so she’s wearing it on a few casual occasions before its next rinse.
Hey guys, I see we beat everybody else to the garage sale.
But I think I’ll come back Sunday when the steins are down to $1.50….
First I’ll hide the one I like in the box of shoes. Nobody buys shoes.
Uh oh… I need to stop hanging out with Joy.

And many thanks, ElGuapo, from yesterday….. wait…. did you say bad puns?….. :)

If I were Burl, I wouldn’t caught dead in that shirt.
Dr.Hydrogen about 13 years ago
If Burl had a garage sale the sign would read " all shoes $2 EACH"

must have been a marriage that was on the rocks. I know someone who’s just like that woman.

Bev needs the extra dough because those last minute airfares to ’Vegas are higher than those bought in advance.

And GymShoe — Susan “”Shun"shine? And I can read the back of the tag?
Are you implying (sniffle) that I hang out with the Pennys?
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 13 years ago
Where are Marg and Leaky today? Did they run off together?
On roller skates?
jjfahl about 13 years ago
And, Realist, I bet nobody here has a green top with orange flowers that is their favorite. Only a Penney could stand to look at that day after day.
