Don’t poke fun at Nancy Drew. I loved those books when I was in Jr. High.

    No, I don’t. That’s too bad about Tucson, it’s a nice place.

My “Complete Works” is in one volume. Did Broomie buy six copies?

And I loved the Hardy Boy mysteries, but I wountn’t put them – or let anyone put them at the top of an unreachachable shelf.

True story: I once saw a girl at a used bookstore in Tokyo with a stack of very impressive stack of hardcover books for purchase. Great authors, Shakespeare, Dickens, etc. I said something complimentary in English only to find out she didn’t speak it at all.

She was buying books to use as decorations in a new coffee shop and had cribbed a list of famous authors from the Internet. I didn’t know whether to cry or smack her. I think I ended up getting drunk that night.

Maybe, back when she was a sweet young thing of 1100, Broomie and WIll dated. Was the “Dark Lady of the Sonnets” a dark green?

If they had a bad break-up, it could explain why she’s taken this long to buy his work. Painful memories, and all that…

I liked the Bobsey Twins. My older sister was into Trixie Belden. My oldest sister liked Nancy Drew. We had them all!
